Attorney Bio:
Peter represents commercial and governmental clients with their real estate portfolios and transactional and collection activities. He has extensive experience in real property title review, loan closings, refinancing, structuring and closing purchase and sale of assets/affiliates, leasing, permitting for development and construction, easement negotiation and documentation, mortgage foreclosure litigation and workouts, business entity formation and governance, collections, and proceedings involving state insurance and local, state and federal environmental regulatory authorities. He carries a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating. Peter is an attorney agent for Westcor Land Title Insurance Company and for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.
Prior to joining Kass Shuler in 2014, Peter had been outside counsel, in-house bank counsel, and a corporate officer of and had represented financial institutions, life insurance companies, residential and commercial development companies, manufactured home and recreational vehicle resort developers, receivers in foreclosure proceedings, natural gas and petroleum products transmission companies, phosphate companies, construction and demolition debris landfill operators, and pulp/paper manufacturers. After graduating from the University of Florida (now Levin) College of Law in 1978, Peter practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia and, then moved to Tampa, Florida in 1982. In Tampa Peter worked as an associate, partner and of counsel with small to mid-size firms, including as a partner with Cason, Henderson, Morrison, Prevatt and Baker, and with Holland and Knight, as in-house counsel for Barnett Banks, Inc. (Special Assets), and as a sole practitioner.
